The revised schedule for NEET PG Counselling has been released incorporating the Zero Cut-off Percentile Criteria. Through NEET PG 2025 admissions will be offered for Doctor of Medicine (MD), Master of Surgery (MS) and Diploma courses in government, deemed universities and private medical colleges across India. The Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) under the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), Government of India has been designated as the counselling authority for NEET PG. Counseling for MD/MS/Diploma and PG DNB courses will be provided by the MCC.
The MCC handles counselling for 50% of All India Quota (AIQ) seats, while the remaining 50% AIQ seats are managed by respective state counselling authorities. Based on the candidates NEET PG results, the counselling schedule will be announced. Seat allotment results will be released for each round separately, with allocations based on candidates performance in the NEET PG Entrance Exam.

Eligibility Criteria
Before filling out the NEET PG application form, candidates must ensure they meet the NEET PG Eligibility Criteria to avoid any issues later. Here are the basic requirements for NEET PG 2025:
- MBBS Degree: Candidates must have completed their MBBS degree or hold a provisional pass certificate from a recognized medical institute in India.
- Registration Certificate: A provisional or permanent registration certificate issued by the National Medical Commission (NMC) or a State Medical Council (SMC) is mandatory.
- Internship Completion: Candidates must have completed a 12-month rotatory internship or are expected to complete it by July 31, 2025.
Note: The internship completion date is based on last year’s notification. Any updates for this year will be shared accordingly.
Types of NEET PG Counselling 2025
The NEET PG 2025 counselling process is divided into two types based on seat categories and conducting authorities.
1. MCC Counselling (AIQ)
- Conducting Authority: The Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) and the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS)
- Participating Institutes: 50% All India Quota (AIQ) seats in government medical institutions and100% seats in central universities, deemed universities, ESIC, and AFMS institutes.
2. State Quota Counselling
- Conducting Authority: Respective state government or designated state counselling bodies.
- Participating Institutes: 50% state quota seats in government medical colleges and 100% seats in private medical colleges, minority institutions, universities established by state acts, and those managed by municipal bodies, trusts, societies or companies within the state.
Registration Fees
To participate in NEET PG 2025, candidates must pay registration fees online through net banking, credit card or debit card. The fee structure is as follows:

Counselling Procedure
The NEET PG 2025 counselling process, conducted by the Medical Counseling Committee (MCC), is open to candidates who have qualified for the exam. The step-by-step process is detailed below:
Step 1: Online Registration – Candidates must visit the official MCC website to register online by entering their roll number and password. This step is mandatory to participate in the counselling process.
Step 2: Choice Filling & Locking – After registration, candidates select and lock their preferred colleges and courses based on their priorities. Seat allotment will be conducted based on these preferences.
Step 3: Seat Allotment – Seats are allocated based on availability, merit rank, and the choices filled by candidates. To assist with final decisions, two mock allotments are conducted before the actual seat allotment.
Step 4: Payment of Fees & Seat Acceptance – Once a seat is allotted, candidates must choose one of the following options:
- Withdraw: Decline the seat and exit the counselling process.
- Freeze: Accept the allotted seat and stop participating in further rounds.
- Float: Retain the allotted seat but remain open to upgrading to a better option.
- Slide: Accept the seat but look for an upgrade within the same institution.
Step 5: Seat Allocation Fees Payment – To confirm their allotted seat, candidates must pay the seat acceptance fees online via debit card, credit card or net banking.
Step 6: Document Verification – Candidates need to verify their documents at the designated help centres as per the schedule.
Step 7: Reporting to the Allotted College – After completing the document verification, candidates must report to the allotted college or institute within the specified time to secure their admission.
